Giving Horses a New Chance at Life!
A message from our founder, Linda Nemec:
Typically on the morning of our benefit things are ramping up around here. The frenzy has began, we are all excited. Our cooks would have already fired up the BBQ pits, volunteers are here loading up their vehicles with all the auction items……. we would be setting up to be with all of our wonderful sponsors, current friends and to meet new friends, to have an evening about nothing but horses. It was going to be awesome.
Our annual benefit SHOULD HAVE been this evening. But due to COVID and the restrictions placed, we are not able to have it this year and I am heartbroken. Not only is the annual benefit one of the primary sources of our operating budget, it is a chance for us to share our mission, our passion with so many of you, in person. I typically am an introvert, am really quiet with people I have just met, but there’s something about talking to people about horses, that allows me to open up… I get excited to talk about the rescue, I can go on an on and I am going to miss meeting so many new people who utilize the benefit, to get their sneak peek into us.
It’s a chilly and wet morning, which kinda adds to the somberness of my mood. So just blah, is my mood this morning.
Please hold tight with me. I am trying to re-collect and get something set up for the Spring. Maybe combo our mini benefit and our annual benefit in one. BBQ and Crawfish anyone?
I have collected some auction items from some wonderful people so far and had hoped to do on online auction, a virtual benefit so to speak, but I have had some things that prevented me from getting that set completely set up, but I am, of course, hanging on to those items until we all get to meet in person.
For now, please keep the horses and the rescue in your thoughts and prayers. 2020 has not been kind to us and so many other rescues.
Our theme for this year was Giving Horses a New Chance at Life. Just because there is no benefit doesn’t mean we won’t. We will keep going, we will keep saving, we will keep healing.
Thank you all for everything you all have given this year, support, prayers, shares, likes, farrier day help and donations. I do appreciate everything from everyone.
Hoping to the heavens, we will see you ALL in the spring. Linda
